My Journey to the ALU

In the dynamic world of social entrepreneurship, it is the ability to constantly learn, adapt, and grow that truly sets leaders apart. As, the Managing Director of Earthenable, an innovative social enterprise, is a perfect embodiment of this growth mindset. My journey from a technical background in civil and building engineering to leading a complex business model at Earthenable is a testament to my adaptability and unique leadership style.

My tenure at Earthenable has been marked by significant milestones and a relentless pursuit of excellence. For more than five years, I have held different roles from a Research and Development Associate, Quality Assurance associate, a District Manager, a Deputy Managing Director and now a Rwanda Managing Director . This has been at the helm of this intricate business model, navigating the challenges of the social enterprise sector with a steady hand and a clear vision. My technical background has served as a strong foundation, enabling me to understand the intricacies of the business from a unique perspective.

Yet, my leadership journey extends beyond the technical realm. Over the years, I have invested in various business, entrepreneurship, and leadership courses, workshops, and events to further augment my skills. This continuous learning approach has empowered me to lead and create an impact within my team and beyond, fostering a culture of empowerment and resonation.

However, true leaders, understand that leadership is a journey, not a destination. They recognize the importance of continuous self-assessment and improvement. Despite my achievements and the skills I have developed, I have identified areas that need further strengthening to enhance my performance and the resilience of the business I lead. It is this introspection that is leading me to the African Leadership University's (ALU) entrepreneurial leadership program.
The ALU is renowned for its comprehensive approach to leadership in a business context. I believe that enrolling in ALU's program will provide me with the intensive, immersive learning experience I seek. I aim to acquire the building blocks required to lead with greater impact, empower people more effectively, and further develop resonate skills that will fortify my leadership role.

My decision to join ALU isn't just about personal growth. It's a strategic move designed to bolster Earthenable's resilience and future-proof of our business model. It is my commitment to not only improving myself but also enhancing the social enterprise I lead. This decision is likely to impact my teammates and encourage continuous learning because it is not for complacent but constantly striving for excellence.

My journey reiterates that leadership is not static. It is a dynamic process that requires continuous learning, self-assessment, and adaptation. As I embark on this new chapter at the African Leadership University, we can expect to see an even more resilient Earthenable under the robust and visionary leadership.
